Nice to see the BARLA has met the recent resignation by NWC 16 Ė 18 well.

Just read the rant on the BARLAís website and thatís exactly what it comes across as Ö.a rant.

How can airing your dirty washing out possibly solve the issues raised by Junior Clubs up and down the country on how you are not supporting their issues and problems,

The recent fiasco about the Rugby Blades only shows how out of touch and unorganised the BARLA is.

Sorry for the repeat post but I think it needs saying twice!!!!!

Do BARLA seriously believe that they are winning friends by publishing an article such as that on its website?

The writer, as do all journalists, have the right to pen as they please, but that doesn't make it correct. It is merely the speculation of a conspiracy theorist and should have no place in the discussion in which, it would appear, the BARLA Board of Management have no wish to take part, preferring instead to allow other less informed individuals to muck-rake on their behalf.

I despair of ever seeing any reconciliation of views because that requires the involvement of all effected parties and it seems that one party has no wish to parly.

I'm sure a good conspiracy theorist could come up with something about that as well!

Supposition, innuendo, speculation with the odd falsehood thrown in. If this article is a psuedo-official response from the BARLA board then sadly they have no future.

Apart from the Sponsorship aspect this forum is becoming an embarrassment.

Re: Phil Hodgson's article

I hope Hilary Steel takes Hodgson to book for defamation of character. He slags her off with little to no knowledge of what has been going on, other than a few club's chit chat. Ever think that the clubs who are unhappy maybe didn't get full feedback from their rep at the meetings? The clubs DID vote to give the NWC 16-18s committee a mandate to act in the best interests of the league. They have been asked if they want to remove that mandate and didn't. Believe me, this topic has been talked to death at all NWC levels, any club that was not aware needs to review how their reps feed back to the club.

To question Hilary's awards is a really cheap shot. She was nominated for those awards by her colleagues and peers for many years service to amateur rugby league, not by the RFL. That just shows how childish and petty this has all become.

This stupid arguement should have been put to bed three years ago when it first started. There have been plenty of other attempts to sort it out all to no avail. The final nail in the coffin was when the board announced that associate members could no longer attend meetings (so couldn't report back to member clubs) and would no longer receive correspondence. How on earth do they think they can keep people on side when they treat them so badly? If the junior game was so important to Barla they should be working all out to keep them, but instead of trying to come to an agreement they shut the door and then air their dirty laundry in public. If you spend three years talking to a brick wall at some stage you are going to look elsewhere. It's just a big mess and could have been easily settled with a little bit of common sense and a bit less ego a long, long time ago.

I always thought deformation of character only applied if things said were un-true, The letter we recieved today from RLS (and Iíve seen the one sent to the leagues) only backs what Phil said in the article. There is a campaign out there to do away
with BARLA, and we should all be alarmed by this no matter what we think of the
current board (OM) There are good people working for BARLA, who do their best
for the future of the game. All voluntary remember!

I see that Paul (Hull) an administrator now, and that there are a few on from Cumbria and Pennine.
Yet all the negativiitty on this site is coming from NWC members.
The forum is a great idea, but seeing post after post saying the same negative things without putting forward suggestions of how things could be done better is
getting tiring. We all know the history now about the late payment, but ffs, this all looks so petty. Some NWC members (not all of us)seem hell bent on
destroying BARLA and this site before its even started, which seems a shame as
our clubs seem to be benefiting first. Iím not saying BARLA are blameless here
either, the pettiness seems to me to be on both sides. Posting the article on here and the BARLA site, doesnít helps matters either, but canít you see how silly this is making the NWC look on here, when none of the members from the other leagues have had a bad thing to say?

Deformation of character? Is that owt to do with plastic surgery?

All the "negativity" as you call it from the NWC is seemed as positivity from people who are desperate for the people who are running BARLA to be proactive in bringing the various factions around a discussion table. The absence of a response is puzzling which suggests that there isn't anything for BARLA to say that would allow them to come out of this impasse with any credibility.

All it needs is for one person to admit that there is a teeny weeny chance that they have made mistakes in the handling of the matter. That is all it needs, has anyone got the bottle to say it?

I suggest there should be no more digging on this forum.

If there is any digging to be done it should be done at www.diggerland.com

I don't think that highlighting other members spelling or grammar adds anything constructive to the debate.

Nor does your criticising of it, Lee.

What is petty about the fact that a cheque for membership was returned and the NWC refused full membership and why does that make NWC look silly? I'd read a little more carefully if I were you, Bri.

If the BARLA management would come to the table with open minds, I, like you, could see this being resolved, but as I've alluded to before, for a negotiation, there needs to be at least two parties. And this forum, as young as it is, must by now have proved that there is a significant party who is unwilling to negotiate. And it's not NWC!

Lee, you have commented on my attempt at humour but have totally ignored the relevant part of my post. Are there no replies to any posts forthcoming apart from "Admin speak"?

I don't really have enough background of the history of the whole episode to comment one way or the other, nor do I particularly feel inclined to at the moment. I was simply pointing out your breach of the forum rules. Yes, I could have done that by PM, but I wanted to remind other members, that it isn't acceptable either.

I apologise for deflecting the topic, but it is my responsibility to make sure the forum rules are adhered to.

Let's move on shall we?
