BARLA 'No- U-turn on blades boots'

BARLA have confirmed that they have not made a 'U-turn' on the banning of blade boots, after articles in the press to the contrary.

A statement on this issue is expected soon.

Lets get this sorted quickly, it's making BARLA look even more in Disarray, surely it only takes one official to ask a Solicitor the question on how the association stands on the banning of blades (why are they not bad in other sports).

These boots are banned in schools in Cumbria, I have also seen an injury to a player by bladed boots and it was 'horrific'. Perhaps it is not so much banned this subject needs as checked, it has brought to light that not all refs check boots these days, and when the majority of players have to walk in boots along hard surfaces to get to pitches it sharpens any stud, therefore should be checked at the field before play commences, this is strictly adhered to in Cumbria, by our refs.
