The Roses game will be taking place @ Leigh Easts ground on Sunday 22nd of March with a 2pm ko.

Looking forward to a close hard fought game with Yorkshire coming out on top of course. Smile

A tough encounter which lancashire just edged. To be honest I think both teams would have been better suited playing on the large main pitch rather than the smaller 3g.This would have allowed more space to be utilised out wide.Good luck to both teams when they play holders cumbria.

Just read your latest post on this, working on the theory that there is no smoke without fire can you give any further because that wasn't the idea of the under 19 Championship.
As a person who is involved in the County Championship if whatever you are saying is right it needs to be passed onto the Three Counties Chair.
Also as PRO for the BARLA Yorkshire County Squad I am sure that if what you are saying is correct knowing the passionate Yorkshire Committee they may decide to appeal for the result to be overturned and claim victory.
So with the greatest respect can you put some substance on the bones

I have no substance for this rumour, I was led to believe that Yorkshire was awarded the game against Lancashire because of the said rumour.

Lancs are'nt playing Cumbria, and we (Yorkshire) are playing Cumbria in the final @ Stanninley on maybe the 17/19th of April.

I have since read that Lancs cannot raise a team to play Cumbria on a certain date due to fixture commitments, a poor excuse by anybodies standards I know for a fact there is more than 17 good players in Lancs.

The county games are a blue ribbon event in the amateur rugby calendar and should be treated as such, if not it becomes a mockery and something to be ridiculed by others.

If people have put 2 and 2 together and got 5, I'll put my hands up and apologise.

Just out of curiosity are cards checked before games, just as they are in all youth and junior games prior to a game, it would eliminate any suspicions.

Just when are BARLA going to release a statement explaining just what is going on with regard to County walk overs etc. It would be really useful to know the full circumstances rather than just speculation/rumour. Surely someone should take responsibility for this fiasco.

Whatever the reason its a sad reflection on the state of BARLA.

Plenty of people raised their objections when the Three counties ( Open age committee ) devised this competition outside the youth table.

A job well done dont you think Question
