The BARLA Great Britain Under 23 side are looking to a proposed tour of Lebanon in July of this year. The Under 23’s manager Roger Fagge is in ongoing talks with the Lebanon Rugby League and the British Consulate to ensure the safety of the team.

Should the tour be given the green light by all parties the squad will be selected from the Three Counties Open Age Championship which begins on Friday 27th March at Ince Rose Bridge ARLFC when Lancashire entertain Yorkshire, and the Three Counties Under 19 Championship which began last Sunday 22nd March when Lancashire defeated Yorkshire 16-12 at Leigh East ARLFC.

BARLA Great Britain Under 23’s Manager Roger Fagge said,

“We are looking at a proposed tour of Lebanon in July but what is paramount is the safety of the going there. I am in talks with Lebanon Rugby League about the safety issues and also with the British Consulate.

“If they give me the assurances that I need then the tour will go ahead and the squad will be selected from players playing in the Three Counties Open Age and Under 19’s Championship sides.

“The incentive is there for all to play and part of the pathway to play for the BARLA Great Britain Lions”
