BARLA Community Clubs To Fall Silent

Post by Steve Manning on Tue Mar 24, 2009 11:05 am

All BARLA Community Game clubs are being asked to take part in a game wide minute’s silence before this weekend’s fixtures, covering all grades and age groups of the game, as a mark of respect to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats player Leon Walker.

Walker, a former Churwell Chiefs junior, tragically died last weekend at the reserve team fixture between the Wildcats and Celtic Crusaders at Maesteg rugby union ground and the RFL have since launched a full inquiry into the incident.

BARLA Chair Spen Allison,

"At this tragic time for Leon’s family and friends are thoughts with them and this minutes silence will be a mark of respect to Leon.

"At times like these all the rugby league family come together to give all the support they can."
