Hull Youth Clubs Sign-up CWO's
HULL & DISTRICT YOUTH RUGBY LEAGUE PRESS RELEASE
The Management Committee of the Hull & District Youth Association are pleased to announce that it and its member clubs commitment to the continued welfare of its players reached a significant milestone today when confirmation was received that each and every club within the youth game in the area now has a Child Welfare Officer (CWO) formally registered with the Rugby Football League (RFL).
League Secretary Sue Stephenson said "This is an important step forward for our league and shows that our clubs fully support the message that children's welfare is utmost in our thoughts, these hard working volunteers at each club are also supported by two Regional Welfare Officers namely Sue Causer and Fionna Everson who work closely with staff at the RFL. to provide support and advice on all matters".
Dean Hardman Operations Manager at the RFL said "The RFL would like to thank the Hull District Youth League and all of its member clubs for working tremendously hard to ensure that there is a Club Welfare Officer at each club. CWO's play a vital role in Safeguarding & Protecting young people in the game and the attitude shown in Hull is very encouraging. The RFL are committed to ensuring the welfare of young players in Rugby League and do this by ensuring CWO's are in place, that all volunteers are aware of the reporting procedures and by educating volunteers"
